From
the passion of Carnaval to the Amazon,
Brazil
is a country of mythic proportions.
It’s staggering beauty is symbolized by unexplored
rainforests, islands with pristine tropical beaches and mighty
rivers.
Although Brasilia is the capital, most visitors
associate the country’s diversity and energy with
Rio de Janeiro. One of the most densely populated places on
earth, the locals thrive on dance, drink, beach, sport and sun.
Although ritzy, it also caters for the more budget-minded.
For the more adventurous, the city of Manaus is a good
stop-over point for exploring parts of the Amazon – a basin that
contains 6 million sq km of river and jungle which spans eight
countries. It’s also worth witnessing the Iguaza Falls
which boast the stupendous roar of 275 different waterfalls. The
falls are actually divided between Brazil and Argentina and
November is a great time to visit.
It’s also worth considering a visit to the coastal cities of
Fortaleza, Natal, Recife and Salvador. |
